Problem
Dell, a major computer manufacturer, and its software and accessories division needed a system to manage their product catalogs and customers for volume software sales all over the world.

Solution
Cobb Information Systems, Inc. created a SQL Server database with a web-based front end and added globalization features such as multi-currency. The system is designed to allow sales representatives to enter their customer’s information and contract terms and create custom catalogs and price lists in multiple currencies for that customer based on the contract terms and that customer’s country.

Results
By putting the application on the company intranet and adding the ability to output price lists in multiple currencies, the application was able to go from a workgroup application to a global one that is currently used in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
