Success Stories
Health Care REIT
Problem
Health Care REIT, a real-estate investment trust specializing the health care industry,
was using five different Access databases to store information about their daily
operations. Using different databases was causing massive duplication of data and
effort and resulted in discrepancies where systems overlapped.
Solution
Cobb Information Systems, Inc. combined the five different Access databases into
one SQL Server data warehouse. The new system allows users to track investments
through the origination and underwriting process, store and report detailed information
on investments in the companys portfolio, import financial information from
other companies, track construction projects, and collect contact and investor information.
Technology Used
Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SQL Server
Results
The application is used all day every day by all the companys employees and
has paid for itself by reducing duplicate data entry, centralizing information,
and automating the voluminous reporting process.
